琉球群岛散布在我国台湾东北和日本九洲岛西南之间的海面上，包括尖阁诸岛、先岛诸岛、大东诸岛、冲绳诸岛、大岛诸岛、土噶喇诸岛、大隅诸岛等七组岛屿，每组都有许多大小岛屿，总计共有五十个以上有名称的岛屿和四百多个无名小岛，全部陆地面积为四千六百七十平方公里。群岛中最大的岛是冲绳诸岛中的冲绳岛（即大琉球岛），面积一千二百十一平方公里；其次是大岛诸岛中的奄美大岛，面积七百三十平方公里。琉球群岛绵互达一千公里，它的内侧是我国东海，外侧就是太平洋公海。

快被吃光？越南野生物種恐消失 更新日期:2009/08/20 09:53 楊舒婷 【台灣醒報記者楊舒婷綜合報導】越南人吃野生動物吃過頭，快把物種吃光了？越南動物學協會表示，目前犀牛、白手長臂猿、麝香貓、貘等都在搶救名單內，再不注意，這些物種很快就將面臨滅種危機。

根據越南報紙「Thanhmien News」報導的數據，目前有200種動物可於市場買賣，其中有80種為稀有種。常見的動物買賣包含蛇、蜥蜴、穿山甲、烏龜、野貓、老虎、豹、熊、象、野豬、鹿、猴子等。

野生動物肉品交易，每年可達3,400噸；換言之，每年有100萬隻動物因此被殺。其中有18%為非法交易。

若以比例來看，除了少部分是用來當寵物或醫療用途(共占2%左右)，野生動物出口占32%，拿來作食物的比例則高達66%。

協會主席唐輝皇(Dang Huy Huynh)表示，野生動物肉品的需求量很大，從山間小村莊到富有的城市地區，都有人要買，在一般餐廳也吃得到。
