Looks cold but a great place to soak your tired dogs.

This rates as one of my favorite areas to hike in. Rather than hike up Lost Valley, my fellow hikers and I opted to take the junction to Big 5 Lakes. It is a "must do" if you enjoy prestine lakes and great fishing. There is a little known route on the west end of the Big 5 Lakes valley which the rangers call "Hands-and-Knees Pass". It is aptly named but quite do-able. It takes you over to Spring Lake.

Steve, This is one of my favorite views of Mineral King. This valley is breath taking. I have taken two major week long hike out and back from here both via Franklin Pass (in) and Glacier Pass (out). Thank for for your posting!

It was bought at an auction in the late '80's or early '90's, then brought to Fresno on the railroad, and finally placed on a flatbed truck to finish the journey to the backyard!
