Thank you for your birthday wishes Andy and like!
Eating in comfort for us is as important as the food we eat but one of the restaurants we often eat at when holiday at Portorosa seems to have lost the open section where we used to eat. That area was perfect for us, fresh air lovers and warm blooded humans! :) The restaurant overlooks the sea and on warm nights sitting out there was literally a breath of fresh air! But last night it was a mystery as to why we were eating indoors all packed in like sardines with doors and windows closed without even the air conditioning on. The air conditioning unit was almost within reach from us hanging on the wall above our heads silently conserving precious energy. At a certain point I started fanning myself with something when one of the waiters noticed and asked me if I would like the door opened, to which I quickly replied, yes please.... But for some reason that escapes me the people on the other side soon closed it as if it was the middle of winter and hey, they didn't want catch a chill! :) So we ate quickly and ran out on to the road for some relief where the temperature was perfect for late September and soon felt much better., it certainly felt like escaping from a prison!.... Yet, all those people inside were eating and drinking looking perfectly cool and unbothered.... I ask myself, are they or are they not supposed to be hot blooded people? :) I certainly am and so we decided to drive back to Portorosa less than a Km away and sat on a bench overlooking the Marina and the ex Hilton Hotel to cool down. Looking up at the stars I mentioned how different it would have been at home at night at that time saying it would probably be chilly with a promise of rain to come. Well, nothing is perfect and I mean anywhere but I will never understand why Sicilians don't like fresh air but its none of my business I'm only here on holiday and enjoying it so long as I make sure I eat outside on warm nights!

Un colpo d'occhio, anche, su quel "Livingston" che si perde tra massi, praterie e spazi infiniti...
