From Earth to the Moon!

This is not the portage tunnel. This photo is of the staple bend tunnel. The portage tunnel is located near Gallitzin PA

The K-4 is still in the repair shop at Steamtown Scranton as of June 2009, and it looks like it's still going to be there for quite some more time. Some parts of the K-4 (Driver's cab and driving wheels) are still in the Altoona Railroaders Memorial Museum, out in the weather.

If only the people that thought these things were great did some research.

This picture from days long past compared to your pictures of today has made it even more interesting to roam your neighbourhoods! It's amazing to see that so many both private houses on the hillside across the river , the factory and the Catholic Church are maintained and even been allowed to keep their original style. If I only had old photos, I would try to do the same with my own neighbourhoods.
