East Brother Light Station, named after the small island in the San Francisco Bay where it sits, is a working lighthouse that doubles as a bed & breakfast inn for those who want the experience of being inaccessible (a launch takes you to the island and brings you back the next day, otherwise you have to swim). This was just after New Years so the days were fairly short. You can see San Francisco from here, as well as San Quentin prison. Fun place to visit. Decent food and we had great company (only 10 guests can stay over any given night). Go to East Brother LightStation for more information.
