My grandson caught his first fish here when he was about 3 years old. Now he's twelve and can cast a fly better than I ever will. Before they posted the dam as unsafe, you could cast a fly right in front of the spillway and haul in some nice bass. One day, a fellow saw me doing some catch and release of some nice perch here on a fly. The next day he and six of his friends were sitting on the dam filling up their buckets with those perch :(

This mound appears to be a possible ancient burial mound at one time. With it's location being next to a stream. Over the years it has undoubltably been reduced in height due to farm plowing.

Thank you for correcting me . I had assumed that it was a silo . It was not there when I lived in the area 30 years ago .

its funny looking at this picture because it is actually one of the barns my family owns, and our house is a 1/4 mile north on the same side of the road
