I was born in Tanzania (Tanganyika as it was known then) in 1950. Our family lived in the villages of Kondoa, Babati and Biharamulo until leaving the colony just prior to independence in 1961
I lived in Boma in 2001-2002, my dad was the district commissioner at the time. Even though a lot more was renovated it looked almost the same :) I hear they finished the renovations for the whole fort a few years ago and turned most of the DC residence into part of the Guest House and the rooms in the picture above into offices I believe. Man I want to go back there some day :)
