I think about the site frequently. When I arrived in Oct 79 there were a couple nice sized color photos of Caroline and John-John on the wall at the entrance to the dining area. I remember one of the photos was taken of them standing by the gate shack out front. Some of the Greeks workers on the site, told me about the times when they would visit the site. By the time I left in Oct 80, both photos were gone. I always figured, Woody, the guy who wss developing photos in the guard shack at the front gate, took them when he left in Dec 79.

This is not a Radar Site. This is a USAF Radio Relay station used to boost radio signals from Turkey to Italy, and back. On average 20 USAF military people lived here, men and women. I lived on this site from 1981 to 1982. Most famous visitors were Mrs. Kennedy and her kids who lived nearby.
