¶ "That water is pumped from a pumping station on the Shawsheen River in Billerica (right behind Shawsheen Tech)." I've been there, seen & photographed it but didn't know that's what that is.
¶ On maps it looks like the Maple Meadow Brook flows into Mill Pond Rez. I did wonder why there are two headwater dams (?)!
¶ Is this inflow the only source of water for Mill Pond?
¶ "Mill Pond" the name suggests that there is or was once machinery powered by this impoundment.

Mud build-up on left edge of road is a beaver dam. The old dam has been washed out by a downpour.
¶ All the thick undergrowth and vines have been cleared. Maybe they plan to make a bike/running/walking path.
This is the James W. Mort home. Built Circa 1869. This house was featured in Victorian Magazine Dec. 2005.
This bridge has been removed and a new one is being built (10/2012).
