Hello mcolthoff, nice to know that there is someone else being interested in this area. I was there only one time on the way to Diekirch-Museum. My Interest was to find places, where the 62- VGD fought, they also fought hard at the Remagen bridgehead in the "Siebengebirge". Nice places to take fotos and look around too!

Not so many people know, that there really heavy fightings took place in the Grufflingen area. Most people look more for the Northern Shoulder of Battle of the bulge, me too, cause it is not so far away from my home (Bonn). But this area, where the 62. VGD fought, is very interesting and - important - no nationalpark like most of the Eifel or the Hürtgenwald/Wahlerscheid/Elsenborn - region.
