Well, having lived there from July 2012-March 2013, I can tell you that we, as American MEDEVAC air crewmen living with the Swedes, referred to it as "The Russian Forrest". We used to let our flight medics ride the hoist into there. Our outpost was on the south wall of the Russian Forrest. There is a really dirty swimming pool that he Afghan kids used the the summer. The word on the street is that is was for Russian Army officers who were developing the Sherberghan gas fields; moreover, rumor has it is that place is crawling with Cobras.
Entschuldigung, der Name dieser Fotos aus Polen ist nichts so ganz korrekt auf polnisch. Es sollte heissen "Kołbacz, stary klasztor" (Nominativ); "...starego klasztoru" ist Genetiv.
I have heard a story that the King of Balkh (Balkh Bukhara) left his kingdom to sit at the feet of Saint Kabir in Benares, India. This would have been in the 1400s, as Kabir lived from 1398 to 1518.
Such history in these lands.
