It's called Black Church locally. It is the parish church of Llanfair yn Neubwll which had population of 357 in 1875. The building was restored when the railway was built at the Chester and Holyhead railways' expense. The original building was probably standing in the 14th century and inside was a 12th century (Norman) font. There are lakes and a spring nearby also dedicated to Mary - which have a much older spiritual history - being places that the Llyn Cerrig Bach hoard of iron-age artifacts were found. There is a plaque commerating the railwaymen lost in the construction of the line. A stained glass window was put in to commemerate 4 local soldiers who died in the first world war. The chalice was Elizabethan and is now at the church in Valley. There is still a harvest festival service held once a year, usually in July.

Stunning shot, like!

With kind regards, LudMila
