Water is diverted from Ocoee River via "Wooden Flume" at Ocoee River Dam Number 2 to Ocoee River Number 2 Power House for creating electricity ... This is the reason the Ocoee River looks dry ... Flume is approx. 14' x 11' with railroad track on top that is used for maintenance ... Flume is approx. 5 miles long and drops only 19' over the 5 mile journey even though the river drops 250' over the same stretch ... Incredible feat for the time and today ...
