Ross Sea is very nice in Antarctica, I like very much.

Gilmour Family Great shot Pilanesberg always a pleasure to visit Rod

Now that's a very good question! There was a manned New Zealand meteorological station on the island for many years and the "street light" is at the base, close to the jetty. The island is no longer manned and the weather monitoring is now done automatically. Apparently it rains on average 325 days each year and 215 days have less than 1 hour of sunshine. But for the 2 or 3 days we were there it was almost 100% sunshine and not a drop of rain :-)

This remote island is so interesting!!! LIKEd

Greetings from Thailand

Чудесные создания! Надеюсь Вы их не истребляли

The day we were there was unusually fine and calm. The photo of Mt Erebus http://www.panoramio.com/photo/32303601 was taken from the ship as we approached the cape. The sky was completely clear and there was only a light breeze coming down off the ice. The sense of isolation is so extreme that it feels quiet even when it isn't. There is always some wind noise, a few small waves against the rocks and ice, the skuas and penguins. And when you walk there is the crunch of stones and ice.

And thank you Роман

Thank you for your comments Dima. Campbell Island is a beautiful location. Normally the weather is wet and overcast most of the year but it was fine and sunny for the few days we were there.
