Nice place and great picture. I was there in July 2009

Like + Favourite photographer, Greetings from Finland, Happy day!: Joni

Another hot day in the Capital of Hungary, above 30 degrees centigrade, every day. In the early hours before noon, one is able to make som excursions without desintegrating into a puddle of sweat.

Terror Háza: This building at Andrássy út 60 reveals an institution from the past, and a caution for human nature in the future. The totalitarians former central HQ at what used to be named, somewhat ironically, as Népköztársaság (People's Republic) útja, now displays TERROR upon the upper part of the facades, when the shadows are benign, as they were on this particular occasion. "Nincsenek kis népek".

This 1,300-seat neo-Renaissance building in the Pest part of Budapest strikes you with its grandeur, as you wander down the magnificient Andrássy boulevard. Drawn and supervised by Miklós Ybl, construction started in 1875 and was finished in 1884, financially backed by none the less than Emperor Franz Joseph himself, though rumour has it that his feelings cooled during completion.
