It is a very nice photo. LIKE. Best Greetings.
View looking toward Grandfather from the Linn Cove Viaduct. Fall color on Oct. 16, 2007 which was about 2 weeks behind schedule due to the drought of 2007. This area peaked a few days later and normally peaks near the end of the first week. Elevation where photo was taken: 4260 feet
Picture was taken on October 17, 2007. Peak color was very near (approx. 5 days away in this area). This part of the state peaked sooner in 2007 than other higher mountains to the south. This may have been due to more rainfall in this county, while other areas of the mountains were hit harder by drought.
This picture was taken on the 16th of October. Typically past peak at the top of Grandfather Mtn. for fall foliage. However in 2007, the color ran a couple of weeks behind schedule. Possibly due to the drought.
This photo was taken from the rocks looking back at the bridge toward the gift shop and parking lot.
