If you look at the dark/light comparisons of the dirt, you can see where it has settled over time. Most of this base his been moved underground and spread out for years. This section is heavily watched by most U.S. conspiracy enthusiasts, but several new buildings have been added over the past ten years.

I will say that the government has became a little more intelligent and atleast started making the rooms blend into the desert. Look closely around the Nevada Test Site.. you'll see the real Area 51 :)
