La boca de incendios es estrictamente para el turista. No funciona. Los edificios detrás de la foto son The Beaumont Enterprise, la ciudad de Beaumont Fire Museum, y el puente de hierro de Chicago y complejo.

Hi! I am Hungarian, and it is wonderful country! :-) We were tourists on this place

The Sabine Pass Light, one of only three built in the United States of similar design, went into operation in 1857. It remained lit for 95 years with the exception of a brief period during the Civil War when it was temporarily shut down. The light was permanently extinguished by the Coast Guard in 1952 when modern technology made it obsolete. The wharfs, keeper's house and wooden outbuilding have all been destroyed by marsh fire. The lighthouse has since been entered into the National Register of Historic Places, reference #81000290. The lighthouse is located on the Louisiana side of the Sabine River across from the community of Sabine Pass, Texas.

A restoration effort is being made by the Cameron Preservation Society.

Wow! I lost a t-shirt on this crossing back in the Scouts in '83. I remember we did canoeing nearby and the instructor made us lick the oars if we dropped them in the mud!

I HOPE TO LIVE HERE BUT ? ................

The New River Gorge Bridge is a steel-arch bridge, in Fayetteville, West Virginia, USA. With a length of 3030 feet (924 m), it was for many years the longest in the world of that type.[1] Its arch extends 1700 feet (518 m). Part of U.S. Highway 19, it is crossed by an average of 17,000 motor vehicles per day. Its construction marked the completion of "Corridor L".

The New River Gorge Bridge carries U.S. Highway 19 over the New River and the CSX railroad at a height of 876 feet (267 m), making it the highest vehicular bridge in the Americas, and the second-highest in the world.

This is from our front deck, so we living among this beauty and have been for 6 years.

Glad you enjoyed the pic.

We were in Beaumont in Mid Feb 2008 for my 50th Lamar University class reunion and again this month (July 1-July 8) for my Wife's Family reunion i.e., The DeCuir Family, who are mostly from SWLA.

I posted two other Photos. One expands on your Mildred Building pics and the other is of an old multi-circuit telephone pole at the old Southern Pacific Railroad Station, It is named "1940's Broadband".

Are you living in Beaumont? If so, how long and what generation would you be in?

we are in our early seventies and retired to SWVA. Some of my posted pics are taken from our home called, "Eagle Wing" which is along the Blue Ridge Parkway in Fancy Gap, VA.
