Very beautiful night photo. Greetings!
Romantic blue hour in a beautiful place – Well captured! Greetings from Athens, Christos.
Thank you, Jens, for your like of the photo"bonbon"-a yorker and your explanation of the history of the cathedral, which has interested me. There are still a lot of things for me to learn in the field of churches. Best wishes from lienyuan.
Hi Jens, I hadn't realised that it was Sweden on the horizon. Looking more closely at the map I see that the shot is also quite close to the Øresund Bridge link between the two countries. It is quite famous here in the UK after the two series of "The Bridge" with "Saga and Martin" as the detectives. Sometime I'll get over there to take a look - the bridge looks like a fantastic engineering feat. Cheers, Matthew
Thank you for your interest lienyuan and thank you for Y+L. The church was first built in 1100, that is, in the Catholic period - ending in Denmark in 1536. The church burned several times and in 1863 it was necessary to tear it down completely. The present church, which is a cathedral, is built in the period 1864-1876.
Thank you Руслан for your comment on the photo of the Swedish countryside. It was a lovely misty morning by the lake Bolmen in southern Sweden. BW, Jens
