You go to upper smith creek where there is a old landing, then bushwack up the side of the moutain and end up right on the steep part. Then you walk towards smith peak and can get down from there. keep heading east as you go down the hill till you come to a small stream and follow it down. You can call me if you need more information. 208-267-0979. jack yeoumans
You go up the west side road (bonners side) ;then smith cr. to westfork trailhead;then to westfork lake and up towards the old metal tower. you come up agints a large rock where the main trail goes left. To the right is a faint trail , which will take you to the top of the ridge and you can see the lake below as in the picture. Follow the ridge down and to your left is the easiest way TO GET TO THE LAKE. It is cross country from the top of the ridge. Lots of brook TROUT in the lake!!!
Was wondering if you could tell me about the area a bit. New to northern Idaho, and need new places to backpack into. I did Two Mouths last year, and it nearly killed my wife, so im looking for something with a little less elevation change. Is cooks a good lake? Decent fishing?
I love your pictures and I'm very interested in the trail through the wigwams. I would like to talk to you about the possibility of getting into kent lake by this route. have went to two-mouth then to top of ridge near your picture. I have heart that people drop down from that trail. It's the last lake in the selkirks; on the usa side, that I haven't been too. jack yeoumans 265-0160
