Hi again Andy, I have passed this scene many times since and never saw it again quite like this. Of course the children make this! As you say, reading comments on such pages can be really interesting. The comment from southaussie above is of particular interest.

Cheers, Herb

...ganz flach, Andrea. Du kannst heute schon sehen, wer morgen zu Besuch kommt :-)
Ciao, Roland

A classic shot :)

I told my 4 year old son on his first trip to the beach that he could taste the salt in the ocean. Once knee deep in the water, he bent over for a taste....oblivious to the approaching wave ~~~

Yep, clueless but also hilarious!

Thanks for sharing, Carlee

Herb- Thanks for your comment. I know the forestry history of the British island. And I know the enormous efforts are made to improve the situation. The key issue is (1) to keep control over the free sheep grazing, than all the others, like soil protection practices- including forming new soil where is lost, recover any kind of vegetation cover, terracing, where its need, and select the right species: herbs, grasses, bushes, trees, whatever, best native species well adapted to the site. Once there is an vegetation cover, there can be built up soils too, and grow the next step of vegetation cover, until we get beck the original forest cover. Its a long way, and it may be needs much time but it is possible. I heard about the introduction of Araucaria arauca from Chile to Britain, specially Scotland. If it can adapt, it is very good; The seeds are edible and very nutrious. And in its natural environment they are an endangered species because of habitat loss.

Dear Argenna, thank you so much, that's exactly what I felt when I saw this spectacular sunset, more so, because it was in a magic place in Ireland on Solstice day.

My warmest regards,

May

Many thanks Jozsef, I am glad you like it. Best regards cheers scally.
