The position of this photo' was disputed. I can confirm that its location is correct. Since uploading this photo, the stile has sadly given way to a new housing scheme - but the milestone is still there and you can still see where the wall has been stopped up. The suggested location on Lascelles Hall Road is in fact the pedestrian access to derelict farmhouse called 'The Nail'(or Nail). It has recently been renovated.
Cheers.

It's deserted because, much though the developers would like to convince you otherwise, this isn't the city centre. The city centre is three quarters of a mile to the north west and nobody could be bothered to take the fifteen minute walk out to Clarence Dock for its meagre attractions of a few overpriced designer shops, a Pizza Express and a Tesco Metro. Very nice place to live, though.
this is not the old prisoner of war camp. My father put up these hen huts in the 60's at Scale Hill farm.
The pow camp is above with the concrete slabs
This is a scanned film image with no digital
manipulation whatsoever. I used my Olympus OM4ti
loded with ..ahem..Kodak Ultra 400ASA film. Taken at the end of West Bay carnival procession 1997.

My pen & ink sketch worked better than my photograph on this one - so I thought I'd include it anyway.
