Thanks to all for the clarification on this incident. It was unfortunate for all.

I stopped by there during my Summer of Love (driving that van up Route 1) -- 'visited' some communes in Haight Ashbury and Berkeley, but got there too late (to get hit by the burglars the night before) -- I should have gone there "first chance" back when "the flowers still had powers"

...I just had the number scribbled on the back...

heh! that reminds me of when I carried a card imprinted: No address, No phone, No Religion, No Banking-Connections -- No Family-Tree! (ask me to scribble what You Need To Know on the back)

wasn't criticism, of course, just "a crack" -- I always disliked this "style" of hotel (which didn't make me feel "at home" at all, rather the opposite, I felt more like "anywhere BUT here")...
