It's been around for much longer than that, although that looks like a new paint job. I never noticed it either when I lived near there, even though I biked past there often. It was actually designed by LA architect Frank Gehry, who's now the most renowned in the world. His older stuff is all over LA, plus a few of his newer buildings, like the Disney Concert Hall downtown.

This shot was taken back in late June 06. There are alot of hiking trails around this place. As for easy the Trail leading to THIS SHOT is a paved trail about 1/2 mile long. The location is almost directly across from where I took this panoramic.

Most of the trails in this area climb mountains and are rated Moderate to Very Difficult.

Look for William Sullivan 100 hikes books for Oregon. Each book is broken down into a selected area of the state. I find that he rates the trails accuratly.
