Good to see some water in the river. It was almost dry when we visited in September 2006. It is an extraordinary place. A very friendly woman and her children welcomed visitors to her home. They filmed 'Gladiator' here and she had a big poster of Russell Crow in the living room. Nearby was a thatched refuge to keep a donkey comfortable from the heat of the sun. Here and Hong Kong must be the two most amazing places I ever saw. Quite different of course! The mini-bus guide managed to talk non-stop for 6 hours as we crossed the Atlas mountains and back on 'Mr Bill's' road. (I think that was the civil engineer's name, but I may have forgotten it.) Thanks for the photograph.
