This tent city existed on this spot from August 1990 to April 1991 as part of Desert Shield/ Desert Storm. We named it Camp Nacerima. The rows of gravel were laid down as a means of dust control, the tents sat where the rectangular sand areas are. Population maxed out around 3000 in February 2001, Air Force and Army personnel. At the time only the southern runway existed, the northern runway and the taxiway on the camp's east side were desert.
I have attempted to research Joseph F. Caskey on the internet and came up with zip. I don't know how many times I have driven over this bridge, but I never noticed the memorial until this year.

I have no idea why the land aroun the Cemetery was condemned.
The entire city of Lake Milton has been deemed a state park. Strange? I think so.
