beautiful shot thanks for sharing
Me again, I just finished speaking with an amazing soul, and Elder of Mattice, who happens to be the first cousin of Joseph Marten, M Fred Neegan, (born in 1931) he is also know as the guardian of the Missinaibi. wonderful man, I just spent about an hour talking with him, such wisdom and character. he has travelled the missinaibi , many many times during his 83 years. Joseph was in fact a baby of only a few months, who was born, and buried on the Missinaibi. As mentionned before, the Missinaibi trappers and travellers would rarely take the time to register the births and deaths or very small children and babies, as they would have had to travel extra, and unecessary miles to do so. Life was very hard in the 20s and 30s, and life depended on trapping, and surviving. M Neegan showed me on Google Earth, the many places his relatives have been buried, they would leave the graves unmarked, as they did not want anyone to disturb the gravesites. Some people have asked Mister Neegan to write his memoirs, if he does, I will be the first one in line.
