Steve C's conversations

this would be nice for my photo sessions :) like Follow me on Facebook

Très belle photo.

They're gone now (under a new bridge when the interchange was rebuilt)... but the interesting part is that they weren't a church. The Rake magazine did a story on them in 2005, now archived at:

http://archives.secretsofthecity.com/magazine/reporting/features/ruin

"A religious organization, the Outdoor Scripture Sign Crusade, had erected the shrine. Between the two arches and affixed to the stone base had been a wooden sign that was sixteen feet high and sixty-five feet long. It read, in huge letters trimmed with Persian orange paint, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.”"

My heart broke the day this was shown on local news in my new state which I now call home. Memories flooded back.

Do you know how old this church building is? Nobody builds churches like this any more. It looks very well maintained.

I would guess that the section on the front was added relatively recently, within the last 25 years or so.

Landed pretty well...(-:

Nice Photo. The MN state fair is the best.

Hi! Bye the way.....Minnehaha Falls was not the only thing Lyndon Johnson missed :). Nice shot from B'ville Pkwy bridge! Jerry

Nice one. I really liked Singapore. Here is my view from the hotel.

Cheers, Tony
