Hi Steve, Füsun, and Nick
A big thank you to all three of you for your visit and the awards.
This picture came about as I was taking a walk in the hills near Croesor to pass an afternoon.. The whole field was covered in ferns. I took a lot of pictures, but they were not exciting, just a lot of green! I tried a different idea... I wanted to capture the fractal geometry, but this species doesn't seem well gifted that way, but just as an experiment went with this idea. I'm pleased that you think it has worked.
Maybe we can call it Fern Wales?
A big thank you to all three of you for your visit and the awards. As always, they are much appreciated. Tom Rolt is a new locomotive built in 1991 using parts from an old Irish locomotive, and is probably the most powerful loco on the railway. Here it is just leaving Dolgoch station, surrounded by trees. I hoped the light and shade would prove interesting, and a contrast between the red coaches and green surroundings would work..... I'm very pleased that you all enjoyed it!
Thank you again for visiting this scene from last Sunday. This viaduct always appears in Talyllyn literature, but is very difficult to find a clear view of. I have one from the other side to post yet, but this was, believe it or not, taken from standing on firm ground, readily accessible, on the proper side of the safety fence. Also interesting to see the two ladies on the train crew. I'm happy that you have enjoyed it.
Thank you so much for your visit and the awards. They are much appreciated. There are still a lot more Cornwall pictures to come yet, but this is inside of of the big domes at the Eden Project. Totally man made!
Sidnei Recco thank you i am pleased you like this locomotive shot and your YS-L is very much appreciated on it
