Looking downstream from Carrow Bridge. Seen on the left is the remains of the North Bank Boom Tower. Its mate, on the south bank, is now part of a private garden, but interestingly also contains the remains of one of the very few remaining Beehive charcoal ovens, built into the tower by the brewery (now long gone) to make precious charcoal for the brewing process. The new apartment development on the south bank has opened up and incorporated remains of the City wall of which the Boom Towers were a part.
