As time goes by...there'll be some moments, places/things, feelings, one might like to keep a memory of, and perhaps even share with 'complete strangers'. So, here... Hope you'll find something interesting/enjoyable here - thanks for visiting!

Boris Miller's conversations

Hello Ed I'm glad you've persisted, and got this fine comment off the ground, and into the orbit successfully! :)
I totally understand your feelings about the cancelling/scaling back of those traditional celebrations - it's a shame... I'm sure it doesn't sit well with many people in Holland, and hopefully this tendency could be stopped/reversed!
4th of July fireworks are sponsored by Macy's (large dept. store), so it's private money... Of course, there is still cost of police overtime, and other expenses to taxpayers, but no one would contemplate any changes to established ('patriotic' and other) holidays - no way!
The picture is so-so, because I didn't do my 'homework' - couldn't get anywhere near the right spot... Maybe next year :)
Greetings, - B.

Only $10! I'm tempted!

I'd get an even louder 'bang for the buck', as the attention would be all year round over here. :))

I'm surprised at all the sub-divisions of the Iroquoians, thinking that there were only a handful.

My education proceeds with pleasure, thank you for that Boris!

From a very distant relative of the 'Mayflower's' once hopeful passengers, the most friendly of greetings to you too... ( well, it is another variation on a theme) ~ D. :))

Many thanks for your kind comments JLuis, it's a pleasure to read them; best regards, ~ David.

JLuis, thank you, I appreciate your compliment very much; regards, ~ David.

Glad you're enjoying an evening walk in the city, waldwind - thank you!

Maybe that girl with pizza makes it one? (pls enlarge))

By all means, Thomas - East Village (and Williamsburg) should be on the shortlist for the next time! Cheers, B.

Yes, Thomas - warm evening light washes streets of Manhattan (those running East-West) beautifully when sun sets down.
The bike is a vintage Bianchi - and the right size for you! :)
I hear you - there's a lot to learn from David's authentic, eloquent and vivid English - I do all the time! :)

Right, Thomas - you have to hand it to them - fast, brave, determined, likable, and generally good-spirited, despite many 'situations' they repeatedly get into :)

Thank you very much Christos - most kind and generous :)
Best wishes, - B.
