Having been safely moored for years near by the causeway the severe storms of 2013/14 caused the vessel to break free and beach right next to the road.
Or so we thought but the severe storms early this year caused it to break free of its moorings and beach next to the causeway.

This is Heart Of Oak that was the last vessel to be built at Ulverston in 1912.
We would have given it a good home.
