Typical late afternoon image in the summer. The families responsible of renting these small barracks (barracas) uncover their frames, leaving them naked to face the night. The next day starts again and colours return to the beach.

The Avenida dos Banhos (Baths Avenue, referring to the early 20th century social event of sea bathing, usually just for the elite society) is THE place to go out at night during the summer. With many commercial stores and bars, people gather there in a relaxing walk after dinner.

Seagulls in their typical 'northward facing' position. They face the wind as a group in order to protect themselves and straighten their feathers.

You can use the bike road since the northern part of Póvoa de Varzim to reach Vila do Conde's fortress, in a +7kms ride. Very pleasant!
