This is where I l post photos of parts of the UK,mainly of the East Midlands of England where I live and work. There are some historic and occasionally important structures. In amongst the Churches, pubs, other interesting buildings and landscapes for GE there is the occasional different photograph. Others can be found at.... ♫Russ Hamer on flickr... I have a flooring shop in Derby... Carpet Square... you are welcome to visit. In fact you could run it whilst I go out and take advantage of the light I am missing stuck there!!!

I've got gammon flu. It WAS swine flu but it was cured.

My brother and I attended my uncle's funeral here. I remember Eric fondly. I am so sorry that Penny and I passed through recently without time to look up my cousins.

Since the sixties I have had an aversion to buildings like this drawn from years of looking at "bad" reports about high rises. Since visiting this recently one all that has immediately gone... I was there a short time visiting an old friend but everyone we met on the way up, and down, was delightfully friendly and helpful! Well built, great security and absolutely fabulous views. Was visiting an old mate who deserted the RRMVC to go sing for Fife Male Voice Choir. As if.

I also was only passing through the town. I hope to return soon with more time to take photos of the impressive town hall.

A lovely shot of the Tay Bridge from Fife Russ - looking towards my place of birth :)))

Think that's spam but, in case not, thanks. Pleased with the missing lamp post!

Yet another bites the dust, victim of the credit crunch and supermarkets, anti smoking laws and tv culture. Soon we will all sit at home watching manufactured "artistes" on x factor while eating and drinking delivered in food and drink. And, of course, reminiscing about the local pub. I recognise the cycle now; first the cheap meals, then the big banners advertising Sky sports (enough to put most passing trade off), then the "Run This Pub" signs. Then gone, or at least, sometimes, the structure saved by being converted to flats or a Tesco Express!

Beautiful ...

greetings from Iran
