This is where I l post photos of parts of the UK,mainly of the East Midlands of England where I live and work. There are some historic and occasionally important structures. In amongst the Churches, pubs, other interesting buildings and landscapes for GE there is the occasional different photograph. Others can be found at.... ♫Russ Hamer on flickr... I have a flooring shop in Derby... Carpet Square... you are welcome to visit. In fact you could run it whilst I go out and take advantage of the light I am missing stuck there!!!

Sure and thank-you.....good memories of the Barge.

There used to be at least 12 pubs in this village. Now down to one. See this interesting account

Thanks Laurel!

Only when I'm not hangin' with the seagulls, Cal.

....or in the early 70s you could stop off at the farm just by and ask the woman looking at you and the rest of yer mates who were doin' the Duke of Edinburg's if yer could buy some milk coz y'all were starvin'. She pulled it from a machine where t'milk ran over some cooling bars and into a jug forus.

Or some years later when you were crossing the field up to Crummock from here where t'farmer wa keeping his lambing ewes, one o lambs crept under electric wire and came and nuzzled into one of my lambs, resplendent in his one piece suit and wellies. It wa so funny this little lamb pushing into my little lad, folks all around were tekking pictures an all.

By, these are good memories *Russ.

What a cute little Redwing! Excellent shot, Russ!

It is proposed, I understand, to relocate the mosaic to another place when work begins to creat a "central hub" connecting this building to the other in October 2010. More details via wiki.

Changed title but remember it as YMCA... probably just me. Or the song ! Our thoughts have been with the townsfolk of Cockermouth, and around, over the last few months. All the best wishes.
