A beautiful composition! The warm light contrasts nicely against the dark clouds. The long shadows makes it even better!
Best wishes, Annica

Hi Stacy,
Thank you so much for your visit and thoughtful appraisal. I guess the true practice of our craft is to take whatever the seasons throw at us, and make something nice from it. I'm honoured that in this case you have noticed that.
You are sure right about the Baldwin, it's a very powerful loco, and with a featherweight load of 5 coaches, no problem on this gentle section of line. It was nice to see it climbing the hills though!!
Best wishes Peter

Hi Alan,
Thank you for your visit to Churnet Valley again. I don't know where this loco normally lives, but it was at Severn Valley last autumn, so maybe it is doing a 'northern tour'. I believe (but might be wrong) that Churnet valley has only got one big resident loco in working order, the S-160 Baldwin.
Best wishes Peter

Thank you Steve,
I had wondered about this shot for some time. A clear view of a considerable distance of track is possible from the farm road, but I wanted to add something different, so I settled on the corner of the field so I could get the wall in, perhaps a little inspired by your picture from GCR. I am happy that you appreciate the effort, thank you again.
Best Wishes Peter

Hi Steve and İsmail
I thank you both for visiting my little corner of the world, and for your nice comments. Same day as picture no.86432315, you are right Steve, there were many of us who just contented ourselves with a walk round the lake, (I counted at least 10 in the picture), to enjoy the beauty of our country.
Best Wishes Peter
