We visited this site on Memorial Day, 2008. There is a cool 10 foot monument indicating the spot where the Center of the Continental US is purported to be. That marker is across the street from this sign. Also a quaint 6 seat chapel and picnic table are in the small triangle shaped park. A long closed scary hotel sits behind the small park. It is easy to get to: US 281 and KS 119. Nice place for a picnic and quiet reflection as you are in the Center of the "American Universe!"

Please correct the caption. This is Silver Lake, at the head of Big Cottonwood Canyon. The U-shaped valley on the skyline is the result of a hanging glacier, and is now occupied by Twin Lakes.
