in Ansonia is on US 6 Tioga PA; 9 miles west of Wellsboro. The church stood on the northwest corner of the intersection of US 6 and March Creek Road. Historic Conference: Genesee Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church...This building was erected in 1838 as a Presbyterian house of worship by William E. Dodge of the Phelps-Dodge Lumber Company. The community was then named Manchester, and the name was changed to Ansonia in 1876 to honor Dodge’s partner Anson Phelps. The building later became Methodist, then Christian and Missionary Alliance, and the “King James Bible Baptist” Church. The structure is now deserted.
Spirit House, also known as Timothy Brown House or Brown's Hall, is a historic home located at Georgetown in Madison County, New York. It was built about 1865 and is an essentially square, wood frame structure.
Nice view, well taken!
Kind regards, Kostia
"The Antique Clock on this building was located directly across the street on the Chapman & Turner Dept. Store Bldg. The building was built in 1875 and was demolished in 1959. The clock belongs to the people of Norwich and was refurbished in 1938 by the ladies' village improvement association. The clock was again refurbished and installed at the present location by the Norwich bicentennial commission in 1993."
8/30/15: Watched the movie "Saratoga Trunk" 1945 for the first time. They mention Binghamton, Bainbridge, Oneonta and Tunnel NY (area where I live); and even show a map; and Gary Cooper even says "this is might pretty country"; but I don't think it was filmed in NY. The train does go through a tunnel in Tunnel NY. The railroad wars part is true. Found a book p.105: https://books.google.com/books?id=UW8rJlX5aeMC&pg=PA105&lpg=PA105&dq=Railroad+wars+in+Tunnel+NY&source=bl&ots=52vRYi40PI&sig=iL3KANkciJWNY1MzJEwXuDzmzXQ&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0CDcQ6AEwBGoVChMIoK3d56LRxwIVTDQ-Ch2lhgKv#v=onepage&q=Railroad%20wars%20in%20Tunnel%20NY&f=false
I was probably there in February of that same year. It was a pretty rough place and when we walked in all the talking stopped and everyone turned to look at us. Felt like a scene in a movie. I was in Redcliff again this year (2015), but found that the Reno had closed. I couldn't even tell where it had been. It might have burned down. Fun memories....
I photographed this bridge. Like. Greetings from Bucharest!
Actually this is the freight house; depot is further North. Great photo.
Lots of forests in your area, very beautiful picture from there!
Best wishes from Germany
