These pictures were taken after I met a wonderful traveller and companion in 2003. Previous pictures are under the name swdayhiker. All told from my retirement at age 55 to age 70 I day-hiked about 25,000 miles. But now at age 73 a lot of the hiking has been replaced by ATVing (arthritus in left knee and old age). Now at 76 the car and sofa have taken over. But wonderful memories!

A fab climb to this interesting lookout.

Great photo. Thanks eliot

It would be difficult to improve on that photo of aspen with rain clouds. It makes me want to walk iinto the grove, sit on a log and just listen to the silence. Your other photos are great, as well. Thank you.

Greetings from Texas, USA!

It goes better with a big jug of water on your head--for balance. Ha!

Greetings from Texas, USA!

In the early 90's I worked at St. Ann's Care Center in Juneau, AK; we brought several of our patients here to view all the eagles in November of the year. The trees you see across the river were lined with hundreds of bald eagles!

They get seagulls at this lake?

Of course you've been here as well, Elliot.

Here's almost the exact picture taken in the 1950's by Bud Moore! http://www.mtmemory.org/cdm/singleitem/collection/p16013coll58/id/4680/rec/1

Elliot, We exchanged emails a while back, and I forget which tag you use swdayhiker or this one. hopefully this one. I just wanted to chat about this area. if you get this, can you email me? southwestbackcountry@gmail.com

PS where haven't you been? I saw a photo of yours down by Tazmania or something like that...
