These pictures were taken after I met a wonderful traveller and companion in 2003. Previous pictures are under the name swdayhiker. All told from my retirement at age 55 to age 70 I day-hiked about 25,000 miles. But now at age 73 a lot of the hiking has been replaced by ATVing (arthritus in left knee and old age). Now at 76 the car and sofa have taken over. But wonderful memories!

In the early 90's I worked at St. Ann's Care Center in Juneau, AK; we brought several of our patients here to view all the eagles in November of the year. The trees you see across the river were lined with hundreds of bald eagles!

They get seagulls at this lake?

Of course you've been here as well, Elliot.

Here's almost the exact picture taken in the 1950's by Bud Moore! http://www.mtmemory.org/cdm/singleitem/collection/p16013coll58/id/4680/rec/1

Elliot, We exchanged emails a while back, and I forget which tag you use swdayhiker or this one. hopefully this one. I just wanted to chat about this area. if you get this, can you email me? southwestbackcountry@gmail.com

PS where haven't you been? I saw a photo of yours down by Tazmania or something like that...

That is the face of the cliff that doomed United Flight 409! Google it. I was 10 and lived 83 miles from here.

Start of the Mississippi River via North Platt River which dumps into the Missouri at Omaha which joins the Old Miss at St. Louis...I grew up 83 miles from here in Rawlins. One 4th of July, my big bros birthday, we were at that lake and it snowed. I have a picture of us 4 kids sitting on a table freezing. Ahhhhh, good old Wyoming!

Very beautiful view of the canyon. Well done. Greetings from Carolyn Utah USA

I'm pretty sure that this stairway is not up to code. If it was a workplace, I think OSHA would frown on this.
