These formations are known locally as "The Batteries". they are on each side of the creek One side of the creek is on land previously owned by my family since about 1860 when my Great Grandfather selected this land. we used to swim in the creek 60 years ago, but today there is almost no water there at all. The Macksville War Memorial appears to be of recent construction and is located at the rear of a car park behind the Macksville RSL Club.

The War Memorial when photographed was under repair and it appears work had been done on the memorial as late as Friday 28 May 2008

Kennedy's Mountain is located on the dividing range between the Upper Hastings and Forbes River Valleys. It is named after Donald Cameron Kennedy who selected land on the Mountain and was a Boar War Veteran and an early Forestry Officer with the New South Wales Forestry Service.
