I lived in the main building from 1965-68 when it was a simple red brick farmhouse, before it was festooned with a jumble of B&Q-esque add-ons. When Derby was expanded in 1965, the farm remained outside the new boundary whilst the farmer's fields became inside the borough. The front "garden" was largely taken up by the chicken run, the farmer cut the grass once a year to feed his cattle, and one day before I went to work I had to coerce a bullock back through the hedge into the neighbour's field.

Stayed at Grupotel Camp De Mar in June 2007. Thoroughly enjoyed our time there. As a Thomson Gold hotel there are no Children and the entertainment is in English unlike many multi national hotels. Food is good, staff friendly, drinks reasonably priced. The only downside we found that Camp de Mar is a small resort and there is very little to do outside of the hotel.
