I'm a geographer who works at a university in Tennessee. I thought I'd share some images from some of those places between the more popular spots of the US.

Beautiful photograph. It really gives you a clear sense of the community layout.

Very beautiful Lake!

Excellent perspective of this mighty dam. This is by far the best photo of Fontana Dam I have seen in Google Earth.

Thanks! Though I wish I could have done something about that sign's shadow in the lower third. haha

I can understand about not being able to take advantage of the snow cover - it's so rare around here. The snow from the March 08 storm melted by the end of the day. Thanks for kind words. Your Panoramio images are great; the nighttime exposures of downtown are especially super. I look for to seeing more.

Wow, excellent composition.

A few miles northwest of Latham, Tennessee (June 2009).

Posted just to show an example of a typical landscape of the West Tennessee Plain.

The Weakley County Courthouse in Dresden, Tennessee (June 2009).

It was built in 1949 and is situated at the center of a square in downtown Dresden.

Pickwick Landing Dam (May 2009)

This is east side of TVA's Pickwick Landing Dam, looking southeastward. The overpass for Tennessee State Highway 128 was built after the original completion of the dam.
