Henry Harding's conversations

This image gives another perspective on the lighthouse and area that is different than the previous one. Of course this is a panorama so a composite of a number of images glued together. This image does not tell the whole tale about the area as there is a considerable sandy beach that comes from the northwest and even more considerable sandy beach stretching off to the southeast out to a sandy point. The tide is out and the sky is sort of mackerel. The sun is not going to be very pretty at sunset because there is too much cloud cover to let the sunlight come through. I was hoping to get an open sky to the west which would have lit up the lighthouse well. But it didn't happen. Sometimes you get skunked. I like the strong horizontal line of the ocean edge way out to sea. They say that horizontal lines make an image calming. If this isn't calm nothing ever will be. Ta

I am really surprised that more people have not looked at this image, because it is an interesting one of the pilings and pseudo-lighthouse. It also gives a perspective as the real lighthouse is off to the right under the Shell sign. I hope the marina gets more business than this image of it might indicate.

A lovely and very interesting place

This is an oldy as it was shot with film and then scanned in. I agree that it is very unusual. It seems that the landscape is focusing on the spire in the corner. The lines in the image all point towards it. The shoreline curls around to the spire as well enhancing the focus. I am amazed that someone has found it again as there are so many images in the area. I do like to travel as well and have been blessed with employment that has necessitated travel to some interesting places and some exceedingly difficult to get to. I think the Southern Oregon coast is wonderful. About 8 miles north of Brookings on 101 is a tiny turn off that has a path to the overlook of Natural Bridges Cove. Of course I shot that with film a bunch of years ago. I used to travel up from outside of San Francisco 6.5 hours to get there. That was when the arch inside the cove was still standing. I even took a shot from under that arch once. If I had only known that it would collapse soon I might not have entered, but I am still here. The cove though is spectacular since it is well protected. But there are pools inside. The walls around the cove eliminate reflection so you don't have to worry about that as much. It is somewhat darker inside so the sea life is out in the open and visible. The sea life in the pools is great. There is no path into the cove you have to figure it out, but there was a way into it. I once saw a small (maybe 10) herd of Mountain Sheep walk through some on the land side others on the ocean side. They walked right by me about 15 feet away as I was out on the edge of the ocean side. Wow...Too cool. Ta
