One of the older, but outdated, landmarks of Glenrothes, is brought to the ground by demolition. There are still at least five other blocks still to go yet!!! All in Caskieberran/Tanshall, Glenrothes. The Cawdor Drive Maisonettes Block was the second one to be demolished to make way for new houses by Kingdom Housing!
My Great-Grandad helped to build this bridge, so I have a great deal of pride int his photo. The white bits are where the painters are repainting the bridge (under safety tarpaulins as the weather here isn't always amazing like this!) They literally finish at one end and restart all over again at the other every year. It's an ongoing job! The characteristic red colour is from the red oxide paints they use on the bridge to protect it from rusting!
As a local - it is still so strange to see those signs around the ferry terminal and the bridges. The ferry service here is still so new. It feels like being on holiday abroad, without the trip - well, when it's a nice day maybe!!!
This hotel is less than 50 yrds from the Forth Road Bridge on the north side of the Bridge. It also hosts the Bridges Visitor's Centre for tourists visiting the area - with a huge model of the bridge - and the views from here are amazing, over both bridges and the entire River Forth.
We sometimes go for a drive while Fiona is at her dance class, in Rosyth. Tonight we decided to go down by the Bridges. I like to take my camera with me everywhere I go!
