Sheena-Ann Brown's conversations

19 North Street is an original cottage in the fisherman's quarter of St Andrews, originally resided in by the Waters, Melvilles, Harleys, Browns. Originally up to 10 members of a family lived in a one roomed flat. the house was originally split into 8 flats and is now one large dwelling house. Once in one of the most undesirable areas of St Andrews (because of the smell - they used to gut the fish outside into the gutters) it is now in one of the most sought after areas, next to the cathedral ruins at the east end of North Street. My husband's ancestors were Browns, Harleys, Waters and Melvilles who all used to live here....unfortunately, in the 'stinky' days!

The Melvilles - One family in among my husband's ancestors buried in St Andrews cemetery. I have been geanealogy for about thirty years and I love to take photos of the gravestones I find! We ahd one incident where my friend and I found one who was still alive!!!!!!!!!! (Simply that her name wasn't on the gravestone with the rest of her family --- don't panic!!!)

If anyone can tell me what this blue bird is..on the island, I would be really grateful....too tall to be a kingfisher, but a lovely blue colour! Tried the RSPB but they were stumped also!

The weird thing about this photo is that 100 yards along the road, at the West Sands, the sun was shining in all its glory!!!! My ancestors are buried in the row to the far right...do you think they were trying to tell me something!!!???

Luck plays a big part in our hobby sometimes. I've been the recipient of luck in my own work many, many times.

HERE'S one example of the lucky shot!

Thank you for your kind comment Sheena-Ann. I do love the temples and take pictures of them on any occasion. My daughter lives in Utah.

Cheers, Inessa

Exactly as created by God himself - in all its natural beauty, almost untouched by humans....wild and free....emphasised even more by the weather and the time of year....too crowded in the summer with tourists!

My favourite place on earth! Wild and free and this wildness is emphasised even more by the snow and the winter weather. Too crowded in the summer, March is the perfect time of year to see this place in its true glory, just as God made it!!

One of the swans at Birnie Loch Nature Reserve. This is a beautiful man-made nature reserve not far from Ladybank and Giffordtown in Fife. There is a wide variety of birds and a small animal park next door to the reserve. Picnic tables are available for family outings. Beautiful walks around the loch make this place complete.
