This is the Army Tactical Missle, first used in anger in 1992 in Desert Storm. I had this representation built and installed in the old "Missile Garden" in front of the Headquarters building in 1991. This missile is one of a pair that can be loaded into the Multiple Launch Rocket System launcher in place of the two six pack pods of rockets.
Do not be intimidated by the security gate on the road. You may visit this museum area that is just inside the gate on the access road from HWY 70 about 30 miles of Las Cruces, NM.
reatman73, commonly, yes, one would call this a windmill, but correctly here, no. The vanes do not control a mill operation, but a pump, to supply water to the tires used for a catch basin on the left side of the photo. So, wind pump is what it is.

Thanks for the great photo and coordinates. Congrats on finding this rare and hard to find spot on the best island on earth.

I like the photo, sasso. Nice sunset shot.
This photo captures the essence of New Mexico; open landscape under beautiful skies. Great shot!
Nothing as beautiful as this! It's the reason that no matter where in the world I am, my heart remains in Cruces.
