This house was built by Jorge Anastassiou in 1903. Jorge originally came to Chile as a rail road engineer and stayed to open one of the first fruit canning operations in La Serena. This is the last of seven houses built for his seven children in the same area. The original factory was located on a lot directly adjacent to this property where there is now a parking area. Senora Rebecca Sanhueza who was married to Jorge Anastassiou, the son of Jorge Sr. currently lives here.
