The lake is Lily Lake, not Winchell Lake, which is almost behind you, over your right shoulder. :-) Nice pic. Thanks for sharing.

I stand or roll corrected. Thanks for the comment. Its been a long time since I posted this photo.

Would I have loved to have been up there...

I believe that cathe is right that Hagan is located on the Diamond Ranch property. I hope they keep it as is. You go east from the casino and it's on the left. I Haven't been there since mid 2008 and hope it's still as intact as this photo shows. From what I've read the big building on the right was a general store. The building on the left a brick factory? It's well suited. When did the arroyo pretty well dry up?

Thanks for the comment hope you rode the train as well, I took the ride September'08

This is a photo of Mt. Mestas from US160 east of La Veta Pass, facing westbound toward the pass. The camera was roughly at 37°32'N and 105°05'W (spotted on suggestion form). The driveway coming into the hwy from the south (left)is about at the third power pole visible in the photo. Closest town, La Veta, CO about 5 mi ESE. Neat shot!

I was looking to see if I could find the Meyer Ditch Headgate (near the white patch on the creek almost straight west of where the photo is spotted) and was surprised to see a photo spotted in this remote area behind locked gates.

Blanca Peak taken from State route 150 and access road to trail head.
