I live in Liverpool ,England. I am a novice with a camera,i have only just purchased a DSLR. Photography should be fun and capturing the world around us is a very pleasant pastime. I love to capture the seasons and the weather and of course my lovely dog Molly.

I learned to fly in a glider at RAF Burtonwood with the Air Training Corps - 352 (Burnley) Squadron. Went solo 24 Oct 1964 in Kirkby Cadet Mk III XN244 Fantastic view from an open cockpit. Ginormous runway for a little wooden glider! Joined the Royal Air Force in January 1965 and served 30 years.

Earnest1922. In 1964 most of the buildings were there but mainly unoccupied as (I believe) the USAF had already left. I certainly didn't see any. Google pictures today of what was RAF Burtonwood show it mainly barren with industrial buildings making an appearance. If you look really close - the runways are still visible from the air.

thanks Ruben for visit!
